Mission Statement

Murrells Inlet Civic Association (MICA)

To preserve and build on the unique character, natural environment, and history of Murrells Inlet as a family friendly fishing village for the pleasure of all who live, work, and visit the area.

Objectives:

  To enhance the quality of life in the Murrells Inlet Community.

  To represent residents, business owners, and professionals in a forum to achieve community improvement compatible with our unique

  natural enviornment.

  To keep abreast of community and Government issues of concern to our

  community and represent our positions in a positive, non-partisan and

  constructive manner to our elected officials for resolution.

  To promote a pro-active and vigorous civic identity and presence for the people of Murrells Inlet, in concert with our churches, other

  community organizations and service groups, so that Murrells Inlet can be heard as one voice representing the common interest.

  Build on the unique character and appeal of Murrells Inlet, which

  identifies our community as a family friendly fishing village for residents

  and visitors alike, highlighted by quality dining, great recreational

  experiences and outstanding shops and services.

  Protect our Inlet and Marsh, and our Waterways, because they are a

  priceless natural resource requiring care, attention, and vigilance of

  a people who know and appreciate their fragile and irreplaceable value.

  To network with and support other groups with similar objectives.
