Welcome to Our Web Site !

The Murrells Inlet Civic Association was founded to help protect and preserve the truly unique character and natural beauty of Murrells Inlet...

Murrells Inlet has a rich History dating back to the

the 1700's,when vast rice plantations were in abundance and South Carolina Plantation Owners were some of the most powerful men in the U.S.

In the 1800's, Blackbeard and other Pirates

frequented Murrells Inlet and the stories about

their exploits are Legend.

Starting in the Early 1900 Murrells Inlet evolved into a Commercial & Recreational Fishing Community.

During the Depression, Archer and Anna

Huntington developed over 9,000 acres

for a homestead which today is Hungington State Park and world renown Brookgreen

Gardens.

Today, Murrells Inlet still maintains a quaint "Fishing Village" feel and appearance

and one of the main purposes of our group is to " preserve and maintain that

look and feel for this historic Village.

We invite you to Join our Group and help us preserve Murrells Inlet !
